Shot 1-
A pan, shows some daisies close in perspective, cogs, wrenches and other gadgetries strewn about in them. The pan eventually leads to Jonathon and Mabel Lawson at the top of a hill a bit back in the distance.
Shot 2- The butterfly lands next to mabel, who is resting her weight on the wing of the automobile. Jonathon Lawson gets up with the wrench in hand and turns around, and starts walking towards the car.
Shot 3 – Medium Close Up of Mabel Lawson as she watches her husband approach. The butterfly flys into and out of the scene, and Mabel coyly bends down to get a kiss from Jonathon
Shot 4- Mabel cutely tries to kiss her husband. Jonathon passes by her and brushes her off. Mabel is surprised and stands up (NOTE: in the animatic this looks like two shots, but in reality it will be a subtle zoom in throughout this shot)
Shot 5- Mabel feeling a bit of shame.Jonathon Lawson hops under his car’s hood to mess with something inside of it
Shot 6- Mabel watches, and sighs, smiling a small smile.
Shot 7 – She plays with her wedding ring, which shimmers.
Shot 8- Jonathon gets out from under his car’s hood
Shot 9 – he kisses the car’s hood
Shot 10 – Mabel is taken aback.
Shot 11- Close up of Jonathon’s hand on the hood, it too bears a wedding ring. It shimmers, and he closes the hood of the car.
Shot 12- Cut to black. Title “Test Flight” appears.
Shot 13- close up of the car’s propeller whirring
Shot 14- long shot of the car, with Mabel and Jonathon inside, reving up.
Shot 15- Jonathon Lawson pulls some levers in the car while Mabel watches patiently. He seems like he is going to acknowledge her for a moment, and Mabel perks up. Jonathon turns his eyes the other way to watch in front of him and start driving the car. The car starts moving to the right.
Shot 16 – The car descends the flowery hill and cliff. Upon lift-off, a beautiful forest of butterflies is revealed below it.
Shot 17 – worm’s eye view of the car passing over the forest of butterflies.
Shot 18 – Mabel is looking down at the scene. She looks up, breathless, and turns to her husband.
Shot 19- Mabel is enamored.
Shot 20- The camera pans down to reveal Jonathon’s hand resting on the car seat (note: I am going to add more time to this scene, with a little ‘glimmer’ on Jonathon’s ring).
Shot 21- Mabel reaches for his hand with hers. Jonathon pulls his away
Shot 22 – he uses that hand to pull a lever. Mabel is discouraged and fights to hold back tears. She finally lets out a sob and sniffles quietly. Jonathon, hearing this, looks at his wife…but suddenly, the car shakes violently!
Shot 23- Jonathon has run one of the wings into a tall tree, and the wing breaks completely off. The camera zooms out as the car falls into the forest. A loud CRASH is heard, and butterflies flutter up from the forest like a flock of birds. One of the butterflies acts like a wipe to the next scene.
Shot 24- Jonathon is lying on the forest floor after the crash. He picks himself up, and looks around. The camera zooms out to reveal a large, empty forest.
Shot 25- Mabel is lying on the floor of the forest
Shot 26- a closer shot of Mabel
Shot 27- an extreme close up of mabel, her eyes filled with tears.
Shot 28 – Jonathon Lawson sees his automobile in the distance
Shot 29- the wrecked automobile * (note: this is currently being fixed in the animatic)
shot 30 – Jonathon runs towards the wrecked automobile…but stops shortly before it and kneals down. Butterflies rise up
Shot 31- Jonathon has found Mabel in front of the car and has knelt down to pick her up.
Shot 32- Mabel opens her eyes.
shot 33- Mabel stirs. Jonathon and Mabel look at each other. Jonathon kisses mabel.
Shot 34 – Jonathon and Mabel kissing. A butterfly flutters by and leads us to our credits.
