The Flying Automobile is Jonathon Lawson’s prized work-in-progress invention
and a plot device for the film. Throughout the story, the question raises of
whether Jonathon loves this car more than his wife.
The car itself is a Ford Model T (c. 1910) and has been modified with a
propeller (non-attached, like the pigs’ ears), wings, rutter, and plane-like wheels in the front.
For the animation of the car, keep it mechanical and simple. It does not need to undergo any stretch and squash, interesting breakdowns, or what have you since it is purely a mechanical device. Animators should reference both cars and airplanes in motion for this vehicle.
